SURE Foundation supports Central and South Trinidad communities with help from Massy Stores
On Tuesday, May 24, 2022, Massy Stores Supermarkets donated 100 hampers to assist the SURE Foundation in their outreach relief work to assist at-risk families and groups in Central and South Trinidad.
Speaking on behalf of the SURE Foundation, Dr. Rebecca Gookool-Bosland said that “we are appreciative of this contribution from Massy Stores as these hampers will be made available to households in need, in various communities including Reform, Gasparillo, Couva, Williamsville, Golconda and Penal.”
“Our partnership with the SURE Foundation is one of many partnerships we continue to forge to make a difference in the communities we serve. Local agriculture is critical to improving our food security as a nation. The SURE Foundation is focused on cultivating the agricultural interest and passion in our population, while assisting groups and households in becoming more resilient and self-sufficient by growing their own food. The work of the SURE Foundation certainly aligns with our purpose – Our Family Serving Your Family,” commented Mrs. De Freitas at yesterday’s hamper hand-over.
Massy Stores’ CEO, Roxane de Freitas, announced the partnership with the SURE Foundation at the opening ceremony of its newest location at Brentwood, Chaguanas. She spoke of the work of the Foundation in its various outreach activities in Central and South Trinidad as well as its work in food security and the development of the local agricultural industry.
