Massy Stores donated two hundred thousand dollars (TT$200,000) to 19 Non-Profit organizations who were affected during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially those which provide critical services to at-risk men, women and children across Trinidad and Tobago.
“With an employee base and geographic spread which connects us to countless communities, we know first-hand the many challenges of at-risk groups in Trinidad and Tobago. Massy Stores has a legacy of supporting non-profit groups to assist them with basic needs such as personal care and food. The need today is even more urgent and pressing than ever before. We wish to deeply thank our customers who share our ethos and who also contributed to these groups, which collectively serve our purpose of Creating Value and Transforming Lives,” said Roxane de Freitas, CEO, Massy Stores.
The handover of seventy-five thousand dollars (TT$75,000) to the Trinidad and Tobago Cancer Society (TTCS) which also included a monetary contribution from Massy Distribution Trinidad, took place on February 4th, 2022 – World Cancer Day – at Massy Stores Head Office. Eighty percent (80%) of the contribution comprised the proceeds from the sale of pink reusable bags. Chairperson of the TTCS, Dr. Asante Le Blanc, thanked the company and Massy Stores customers who purchased the limited-edition Breast Cancer Awareness reusable bags for their contribution. She added, “This is a great show of appreciation, as we continue to shine the light on breast cancer and encourage our women to get early screening.”
Similarly, customers who purchased the Massy Stores Christmas (red) bag also made a difference in the lives of over three hundred (300) citizens of Trinidad and Tobago who receive care from various non-profit organizations.
