MASSY GROUP SUPPORTS WOMEN’S CRICKET THROUGH TITLE SPONSORSHIP OF WOMEN’S CARIBBEAN PREMIERE LEAGUE
Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago – July 31st 2024 – Massy Group is proud to announce its continued title sponsorship of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) for the third consecutive year as part of a five-year pledge of support. The WCPL tournament will run from August 21st to August 29th , with all matches being held at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy Tarouba, welcoming fans and supporters in Trinidad and Tobago.
For the first time, night matches will be introduced in the tournament with hopes of generating added excitement and attendance at the games. Added to this, fans will be treated to double-headers with the Men’s Cricket team for the first time.
This partnership with the WCPL underscores Massy Group’s unwavering commitment to the development and promotion of women’s cricket in the Caribbean.

This year’s tournament will comprise some of the world’s most decorated cricket players alongside Caribbean players, including Deandra Dottin hailing from Barbados. Dottin is noted as one of the region’s most exceptional talents and a player to watch in the Massy WCPL.
The Women’s Caribbean Premier League continues to be a beacon of inspiration for young female athletes across the Caribbean.

ABOUT THE WOMEN’S CARIBBEAN PREMIER LEAGUE:
The Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) was founded in 2022. The first WCPL took place in St Kitts & Nevis in 2022 with the Trinbago Knight Riders crowned the inaugural champions. Deandra Dottin was player of the tournament as well as the captain of the winning side.
The 2024 season will see an expanded schedule with seven matches played in Trinidad. The three teams competing in the 2024 season will be the Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors and the Trinbago Knight Riders.
The WCPL sees the best players from across the region joined by the best overseas talent from around the world with the party atmosphere for which the Caribbean is so famous.
